The ladder problem appearing elsewhere on this site has proved of so much interest to people that I have been tempted to offer another tricky puzzle. This is for those who understand technical drawings.
It is simple enough to present. We have a Front Elevation, Side Elevation and the Plan of an object. The question is to determine what the object must be like in order to appear as it does in those views. Would you be able to make one?
I am able to tell you that the object is not unique; more than one possibility exists but all possibilities have common characteristics. They are versions of the same thing. There are no hidden lines or other trickery.
It is as it appears even though at first glance one might be inclined to doubt that it is possible.
A word of warning. Although the elevations are simple, the object itself is not; thinking about it may well make your head hurt.
I have produced a solution.
